Digging a well for Haiti

Students at Hampton Christian Elementary School recently conducted a fundraiser to raise money to help drill a well in Haiti.  January was Missions’ Month at the school, and each year they support a different missions project.  Haiti was chosen this year to support the ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newport News.  Pastor Howard Heard went to Haiti in April to present the check to one of the churches there.  The well will be drilled in an area where there presently is no fresh drinking water.  The money collected by Hampton Christian Elementary School will cover the cost of both the drilling of the well and the pump for it.  The school exceeded the original goal of $3,000 by collecting a total of $4,005.
