May 12, 2008 Bake Sale - The 5th grade classes will be hosting a bake sale on Wednesday, May 14th, during lunchtime. All items will be .25¢ each. Field Trips – The 3rd grade classes will be going to the VA Marine & Science Museum on Tuesday, May 13th. Then the 5th grade classes will be going to the Chrysler Museum on Friday, May 16th. Also the 6th grade classes will be going to the Baltimore Aquarium on Friday, May 16th. Campbell Soup Labels – We will be able to collect labels through Friday, May 30th. Please be sure to leave the UPC code on the labels. Please get your labels in as soon as possible. We will not be able to accept them after May 30th. Thank you for your help in this project. Campbell Soup Labels Coordinator – The elementary school is looking for a parent volunteer to be the Campbell Soup Labels Coordinator for the next 2008-09 school year. Mrs. Kim Hewlett has graciously over the last several years processed all the labels for rewards. A great big “Thank You” goes to her for her faithfulness. We love you Ms. Kim!! The elementary has been blessed through this program by earning points to purchase equipment that is used here at the school. If anyone is interested to do this “rewarding” job, please contact the elementary office at 838-2355. Mid-terms – Mid-term reports will go home on Wednesday, May 14th. CiCi’s Pizza – HCS will have a “pizza night” on Thursday, May 15th, at CiCi’s Pizza in Hampton. You may come anytime between 3 – 9 p.m. Proceeds will benefit our school. 5th & 6th Gr. Orientation – There will be a 5th and 6th grade orientation for students only at the high school from 9:25 – 11:25 a.m. on Monday, May 19th. The school bus will transport students and teachers. Pizza will be served for their lunch. Volunteers - We are currently working on the boys’ restroom and have a need for a volunteer to replace sheetrock in the ceiling. If you are able to volunteer time toward that project, please call the school at 838-2355 and ask for Mrs. Rogers. Thank you! – A great big thank you to the following volunteers who have all year long volunteered their personal time to cut, trim, count, and sort labels and receipts. Through their efforts, our school has been blessed with new equipment greatly needed. Thanks to all who have participated. Childcare will not be open. 5K Graduation – The 5K graduation will be held in the elementary chapel on Friday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m. Parents and friends are all welcome.
